Groundhog Day

Monday, February 2nd, 2015

Punxsutawney Phil will leave his burrow at 7:25 a.m. February 2nd at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. He will observe the weather conditions and look for his shadow he will then make his prediction for the remainder of winter. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will persist for six more weeks.
