Ponca – Fun Three-Day Event At Ponca State Park

Join us Aug. 6-8 for “150 Years of Nebraska Storytelling: A Conference Celebrating Nebraska History through Literature” at Ponca State Park!
At this fun three-day event, you will explore Nebraska history and the art of storytelling through presentations by more than 15 accomplished Nebraska authors, fiction and poetry readings and writer’s workshops at one of the state’s most scenic parks. This event was selected by a governor-appointed commission as an official event celebrating Nebraska’s sesquicentennial.

The schedule includes author presentations; fiction and poetry workshops; fiction, nonfiction and poetry readings; living history performances; oral storytelling by traditional Lakota storyteller Jerome Kills Small; a guided hike and boat tour; and more. There will also be time to meet and talk with the authors.
The three-day conference fee is $85, all meals included. Lodging is an extra fee. Guests are not required to lodge at Ponca State Park.
A 20 percent discount will be offered to students and educators who will be commuting daily to and from the conference; students and educators who will be lodging at the park will receive a 30 percent discount, ID proof required.
